Postal Repairs

Prestige Time Services have specialised in postal repairs for years.  We have serviced and repaired thousands of watches.  All of our watch repair and service work has been received into our workshop via the Royal Mail's "Special Delivery" service or via any UK courier.

 The way watches are being repaired and serviced nowadays has changed from a watchmaker being based in a jewellery store where the watch was serviced or repaired on site.  Jewellery stores no longer have watchmakers on their premises so watches are now booked in and then posted to either a particular manufacturer or to an independent watchmaker.  You have to rely on the jewellery store and the watch repair service centre to adequately insure your watch both ways in its journey and being in the watch repair business for over 15 years, we know this is not always the case.

By having your watch serviced or repaired with us, you can personally send your watch and insure it with the Royal Mail's “Special Delivery” service or any UK courier, so you know your watch is safe and secure.  We always return your watch via Royal Mail’s “Special Delivery” with the adequate insurance level chosen, so you can have peace of mind that your watch is looked after.

Once your watch has arrived into our workshop we will assess it and then contact you with an estimate for any repair or servicing work needed.

We aim to turn your watch around as quickly as possible.  After servicing, your watch will be tested for over a week on our watch simulators and timing machines.

Once your watch is ready we will contact you to arrange a convenient date to have your watch posted.  We will post to any UK address of choice being a home, works or a friend’s address.

We increase our watch repair and servicing production each year and we hope you choose us when your watch is ready for a service.

Below is a postal guide on how to post your watch to us.

Along with your watch please include a covering letter or a copy of our enquiry form this should include;

1. Your full postal address which the watch is to be sent back to.

2. A day time telephone number and if possible a mobile or an evening telephone number.

3. An email address so we can verify any cost in writing if you prefer.

4. A small description of the watch and what repair/service you would like to be carried out.

To ensure that your watch is well protected while in the post we recommend that your complete watch is wrapped safely in bubble wrap, tissue or a padded envelope to add extra protection.  Then to be placed in a jiffy bag, padded envelope or a small plastic box.  These can be bought from a Post Office, stationers or even large supermarkets.

Please don’t send your original watch presentation box as it will only cost you more to in postage.  Many presentation boxes weigh considerably more than the watch itself and don’t always add protection for the watch.

We always recommend that for our UK customers that your watch is sent with the Royal Mail's "Special Delivery" service which means you can insure your watch for the necessary compensation.  If you have any queries regarding postal methods we will be happy to answer any questions.

If you are sending your watch from outside the UK, please contact us first to discuss postal details.

We receive a large quantity of repair/service work through Royal Mail's "Special Delivery" service and we believe this method of postage is the most secure and reliable as do the rest of the watch and jewellery industry for sending and receiving repairs/services and in most cases brand new items with values in excess of £25,000.

For added security and not to identify what is in our packet or parcel, please label your repair/service as exactly as follows.
